Buyer protection

Every order paid through Downswing is covered. If the club isn’t as described, arrives damaged or never arrives, you get your money back.

What is covered

  • Not as described. The club is a different model, loft, flex, dexterity or length than listed, or its condition is below the grade on the listing per our condition guide.
  • Damaged in transit. Cracked heads, bent or snapped shafts, broken ferrules.
  • Didn’t arrive. No tracking within 5 business days, or tracking that never shows delivery.
  • Counterfeit. Replicas and fakes are prohibited; a confirmed counterfeit is always a full refund and the seller is removed.
  • Trades. A club received in a trade is covered the same way. See trades.

What is not covered

  • Change of mind, or the club “not suiting your swing,” unless the seller offers returns.
  • Wear that is within the listed condition grade. Read the grade and the photos before you buy.
  • Anything paid for outside Downswing. Off-site payment voids protection, full stop.
  • Cases opened more than 3 days after confirmed delivery.

How to open a case

  1. Go to your orders, open the order and choose Need help.
  2. Pick the reason and add photos. For condition disputes, shoot the same angles as the listing: face, sole, crown, grip and shaft band.
  3. The seller gets 2 business days to respond. Most cases are settled here with a partial refund or a return.
  4. If you can’t agree, our team reviews the listing, the photos from both sides and the messages, and decides. Decisions usually take under 3 business days.
Do this first

Keep the packaging until the case is closed, and don’t play the club. A club with fresh wear is hard to assess.

Possible outcomes

SituationTypical resolution
Minor undisclosed wearPartial refund agreed between you and the seller, keep the club
Wrong spec or condition gradeReturn at the seller’s expense, full refund on receipt
Damaged in transitFull refund; the seller claims against carrier insurance
Never shipped or lostFull refund including shipping
CounterfeitFull refund, item is not returned, seller banned

How refunds work

Because payment is held until delivery and inspection, refunds come from the held funds rather than chasing a seller. Refunds go to the original payment method and typically land in 5 to 10 business days depending on your bank.

For sellers

Protection cuts both ways. Honest grades, thorough photos and tracked shipping with insurance mean cases are rare and, when they happen, usually decided on the evidence you already provided. Our packing guide prevents most transit damage. Buyers who abuse the process are removed.
